On retiring from the Navy in 1986 Pete tried many different jobs, never quite finding the right one. Eventually he decide to run his own business and started Peter Ices in Gosport. He then landed the contract at Bay House School to provide refreshments at break times. He enjoyed the job and found an unending source of new jokes direct from the kids. He later branched out by buying two antique Victorian Ice Cream Bikes. He was often seen trading in Gosport High Street and at many local events. Favourite Ice Cream Joke: An Ice Cream man was found dead today in his van covered in chocolate, strawberry sauce and hundreds and thousands. Police say he must have topped himself.
