Lamma Island and Hong Kong Again

Created by Sean 15 years ago
On returning to Kong Kong in 1996, Pete and Janet went to live on Lamma Island. Pete worked as a Passport Officer in the British Consulate General from 1997 to 2000. During this time in 1997 Pete made sure he got family members the opportunity to witness history, obtaining seats at the Handover Ceremony when Hong Kong was handed back to China. Pete later opened a shop called 'Smelly Things' selling oddments from China and Indonesia. He must have known he was made for charity work, as this business venture never really operated at a profit.
